As a mom of 4 (ages 12 to 2 months) I need something quick and easy to make. This really hits the spot. My only complaint would be the quality control department. I've bought about 30 of these meals and in each of them the chicken has alot of fat. Or is inedible. Also some have way more broccoli or red peppers. Where others have very little. I would watch out for that. Because it makes some meals less enjoyable.

kung pao chicken...Protein + whole grain

I loved kung pao steamer, then there was a change, hadn't notice the white stripe stating protein + whole grain, assumed they changed the rice. Had to throw 3 meals away. I cooked them according to directions, the rice was gummy and gritty (Under-cooked), half way thru cooking, it started to smell real bad near the microwave. It was so bad that I couldn't even pick out the chicken and eat it, tasted as bad as it smelled. There are about 6 diff steamers that I like, I had been recommending them to others, now I tell them to use caution and avoid the ones the tout protein and whole grain. I think you need to rethink the change, taste them yourself, I'd recommend discontinuing, if not recalling these meals to prevent a bad rep. Also, they have been inconsistent in taste, the beef teriyaki has an off taste about 1/3 of the time, the beef merlot veggi's are somewhat more raw than usual lately, even when cooked at max recommended time. I had switched the caf steamers 5 days a week, cutting out fast food for lunch, with fruit and a light snack, now I'm considering other choices for my lunch. I liked the low-cal, low-price meals that made your feel satisfied with the portions, will be hard to find a good alternative.

I thought this was very good. Had lots of flavor and satisfied by taste for Asian inspired food without the guilt of my usual order at my local place.

Overall, I was pleased with this offering from Healthy Choice - despite the name kung pao, there is a distinct lack of peanuts but the vegetables and chicken are satisfying. This might be an effort at being allergy-friendly, but you may as well go whole-hog if you have soy and wheat derived ingredients in your item. The sauce tastes like they put an additional sugar packet in it - it would be well served by the aforementioned peanut taste or some sort of umami or even spicy flavour. As it stands, it's way too sweet. Would probably buy this again, but would prefer it to have a fine-tuned sauce.

Very tasty, easy to prepare, ok for lunch but too small for dinner. Need little more sauce, vegs, rice but no complaint about freshness, taste, composition. Good job will try the others.. Jim

I just ate this one a few minutes ago! I really like it! I picked out the water chestnuts as I just don't like them , nothing to do with healthy choice meals! Will buy again!

This new recipe for Kung Pao Chicken compares very poorly to your original recipe which included a tasty sauce and peanuts. I won't be purchasing this item again. Way too bland.

The recipe was recently changed, removing brown rice & adding white rice. We used to purchase this item regularly for at least 4 people in the family, and now none of them prefer it to other choices. So sad, as this was such a healthy choice for us all. I myself do not purchase white rice dishes when brown rice is available - will go to my local restaurant first.

Where are the peanuts or peanut sauce? I may be wrong, but I was told that the words "kung pao" meant peanut.
